Adebule, Rasuluh, Lafiaji-Okunneye Awarded Scholarships to LASU Students as LASUMA Hosts a Remarkable 2024 AGM and Awards Ceremony, Celebrating Unity and Excellence
Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule, representing Lagos West senatorial district and the Executive Chairman, Ojo Local Government sponsored Scholarships were awarded to the students of Lagos State University during the Lagos State University Muslim Alumni (LASUMA) Annual General Meeting and Awards held in Ikeja, Sunday December 8, 2024.
The event brought together alumni from various generations to celebrate shared achievements and foster stronger community ties. The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University of Education who was the Keynote Speaker at the event along with the Guest Lecturers, Prof. Jameelah Yakub, Head of Economics Department at LASU, and Ustaz Muslihu Afisi, a renowned leadership expert and scholar proffered sustainable alternative solutions to the Nigeria Socio-Economic and Leadership challenges bedeviling Nigerian institutions, current and past Leaders and the entire followers.
The ceremony featured different engaging lineup of activities, including the presentation of Awards of excellence to Distinguished Alumni and notable Leaders for their exceptional contributions to LASUMA and beyond, including Senator Idiat Adebule, Hon. Rasulu Idowu, Prof. Bilkis Lafiaji-Okunneye, Distinguished Prof. Amidu Sanni immediate Vice Chancellor of Fountain University Oshogbo, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello mni, current Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University Ojo and a host of others. Families and attendees also enjoyed a variety of delicacies, professional counseling, and fun activities designed for all age groups.

Assalam alaykum waramotullah wabarakatuh very Distinguished and Dear Great Lagos State University Muslim Alumni members from the pioneer set to date.
It is with great honour and pleasure that we welcome eminent members from all works of life, home and abroad to the General Alumni platform for all the wonderful Lagos State University Muslim Alumni comprising of all LASU campuses- Ojo, Ikeja, Epe, Ojuelegbe, etc and irrespective of the certificate type we hold, be it Diploma, Bachelor, Postgraduate Diploma, Master, DPhil or PhD.
The platform is indeed to foster our unity among other things in order to achieve a common goal for our Dear Alma mater and as individuals.
Please note that, there are Erudite and Foundation/Pioneer Alumni members in our midst occupying important positions across the world, so the current Executives are nothing but your humble servants ready to follow your directives. However, we need your commitment and wonderful supports. We also appreciate all the pioneer/elders that will be called to lead the LASUMA Advisory Council.
May Allah accept all our plans as ibadah and perfect our sojourn both on earth and in the grave. Allahumo amiin.
