Assalam alaykum waramotullah wabarakatuh.Bismillah Rahman Raheem
Alhamdullillah Robil Alamin wa salatu wasalamu ala Rosulillah. Distinguished LASUMAITES. We are LASU, We are Great. Wallahi, I am indeed highly delighted and honoured to serve as the new President of LASUMA for the next few years. The plan of the new executive is to engage all the members of our Great Lagos State University Muslim Alumni in the advancement of one of the foremost alumni entities in the world.
Â
Moving forward, we will focus on the implementation and deepening of LASUMA's strategic goals. We have listened to the IPP, Chairman, LASU Muslim Community and our Honourable Guest Speaker. We have keenly followed the Convener and founding President of LASUMA from inception.
We all know what to do but are we ready to do them? The need to connect all the LASU Muslim Alumni all over the world, from the north, south, west, and to the east. Are we willing to give back to our Great Alma mata and empower the students of today, who will be leaders of tomorrow bi idthinillah.
Distinguished Members of LASUMA, again, are we ready to be known and heard? Are we willing to be part of the membership drive? Contribute to global, national and local issues? Spiritual, Economic or Leadership challenges, be it the Governor of the State or VC of the University?
We must work on our Secretariat, build a website, continue the undergraduate scholarship and expand to Postgraduate scholarship of which I once benefitted same from the University of Lagos Muslim Alumni. Draft a blue print of our cardinal plans for prompt actualization in the next few years. Training and welfare of our members, possible consultancy services, hands of fellowship to the national alumni, registration with necessary bodies and partnership with the government agencies and different establishment where we have our Great members and beyond, and many more. We will partner with the general alumni, the LASU Muslim Community and the management of the University to achieve the essence of our Alma mata. Hence, we must build a concerted effort to advance our common goals and actualise our dreams.
With since ikhlas, I invite you all to kindly consider furthering your engagement with LASUMA. We will facilitate and monitor your personal career success to advance the direction and impact of LASUMA. We will appreciate passionate volunteers who will work in close partnership with LASUMA. We believe you will consider offering your insights and energy to move LASUMA forward.
We are indeed grateful to the Shuroh committee for the excellent job well done, and the entire members of the outgoing executives. Please, do not hesitate to call us to order when we err. May Allah rectify our affairs and perfect our sojourn.
Jazakumullahu khayran.
